Binh Son Refinery has planned for the 5th overall maintenance from March 15 to May 1, 2024, focuses on ensuring safety, highest quality, schedule, and cost optimization. BSR, along with contractors, have meticulously prepared the overall maintenance plan for the TA5 phase, setting the central goal with numerous challenges.
These challenges include bringing all factory equipment to standard conditions according to the design, ensuring reliability and mechanical integrity for continuous operation for 4-5 years after Turnaround, improving design, overcoming technical problems, removing capacity bottlenecks, and achieving safe and stable factory operating conditions for a long term at maximum available capacity. The 5th overall maintenance consists of six main bidding packages, including essential work items such as opening static equipment (up 23% compared to the previous period).
Binh Son Refinery has completed the 4th overall maintenance in 2020, surpassing expectations in safety, quality, and progress. This resulted in the factory's production and business results achieving remarkable post-maintenance feats. To ensure the plant continues operation for the next 4 years, BSR aims to increase capacity over 116% and be ready to connect and operate efficiency-enhancing projects.
To achieve the goals in the 5th Turnaround, BSR requires contractors, personnel, and corporate organizations to focus maximum resources, solidarity, and creativity. All departments of BSR must work closely with the contractor, addressing difficulties and problems during the implementation process.
Through the previous 4 overall maintenance times (specifically in the years: 2011, 2014, 2017, and 2020), Binh Son Refinery has learned valuable lessons, such as strengthening risk management, optimizing plans, focusing on important work, and reducing dependence on foreign experts. Additionally, BSR is actively incorporating 4.0 technology into Turnaround management and supervision, training personnel for heat-resistant material work, and increasing the workload implemented by the company to reduce document preparation time.
